Valentine Colasante

Valentine Colasante trained as a dancer at the École de Danse de l'Opéra national de Paris. In 2006 she became a member of the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera Ballet. She was appointed Coryphée in 2010, Sujet in 2011 and Première danseuse in 2013. In 2018, she was promoted to Étoile after her interpretation of Kitri in Rudolf Nureyev’s Don Quixote. Her most important roles include the title roles in Cinderella and Raymonda, Odette/Odile in Swan Lake and Nikiya in La Bayadère (Rudolf Nureyev), Myrtha in Giselle (after Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot), Effie in La Sylphide (Pierre Lacotte), Lescaut’s Mistress in L'Histoire de Manon (Kenneth MacMillan) and Prudence in The Lady of the Camellias (John Neumeier). Furthermore, her repertoire includes works by George Balanchine, Jean-Guillaume Bart, Pina Bausch, Merce Cunningham, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Emmanuel Gat, Jiří Kylián, Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, Edouard Lock, José Martinez, Wayne McGregor, Benjamin Millepied, Justin Peck, Roland Petit, Jerome Robbins and Sasha Waltz. She has toured with the Paris Opera Ballet in Australia, China, Russia, Malaysia, the United States and Spain.
Valentine Colasante will make her debut at the Vienna State Opera as part of the Nureyev Gala 2024.
