STEFAN ASTAKHOV

The 21-year-old german baritone Stefan Astakhov was a finalist and prizewinner at multiple competitions. In 2018 he won the Junior Prize at the International Singing Competition of the IMMLING Festival, the main prize at the Ton und Erklärung 2018 competition, with KS Brigitte Fassbaender as the jury chairwoman, was finalist and won the Young Talent Prize at the 52nd International Singing Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch, with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa as the jury chairwoman, the Junior Prize at DEBUT 2018, and recently he won the 2nd and »Junior special prize« at the Otto Edelmann Competition in Vienna. Stefan Astakhov has won the 1st place at the world renowned Mirham Helin Competition in Helsinki and recently the 2nd  and the Lied Prize at the Queen Sonja International Music Competition. Until 2017 he studied at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. He is currently studying in Wroclaw, Poland. Stefan Astakhov also completed numerous masterclasses at in Germany and abroad u. a. John Norris, Jose van Dam, Robert Holl. In March 2019 Stefan tookpart in the Lied-Academy of the Heidelberger Frühling with Thomas Hampson and Hartmut Höll. As a soloist Stefan Astakhov can already show international engagements. At the age of 19 he sang the title role in »Le nozze di Figaro« at the Opera House in Wroclaw in Poland in October 2017, and in 2018 he appeared as Bosun and covering Donald in Britten's »Billy Budd« at the National Theatre in Prague. In the summer of 2018 he sang the role of Fiorello and covering Figaro, »Barbiere di Siviglia«, at the jOpera Festival in Austria. In 2019 Stefan debuted in as Kurwenal in the 2nd. Act of  R. Wagner's »Tristan und Isolde« with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Lucerne Festival.
