Current streaming Schedule

Until the Vienna State Opera is allowed to play in front of an audience again from May 19 the daily streams on play.wiener-staatsoper.at will continue. The Vienna State Opera opens its house for an audience on May 19 with the premiere production of Charles Gounod Faust. 
The online programme will feature highlights from the current season over the next few days:

The streaming programme starts with the new production of Henze's Das verratene Meer, recorded in December 2020, featuring Vera-Lotte Boecker, Josh Lovell and Bo Skovhus and is conducted by Simone Young (May 11 and 16 ). On May 12 the Vienna State Opera will stream Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro conducted by Philippe Jordan and featuring Andrè Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Louise Alder, Philippe Sly and Virginie Verrez. Die Fledermaus, conducted by Cornelius Meister and with Georg Nigl, Camilla Nylund, Jochen Schmeckenbecher, Regula Mühlemann, Okka von der Damerau and Peter Simonischek, recorded on New Year's Eve 2020 (May 13), will be shown as well as the premiere productions of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin from October 2020 with Andrè Schuen, Nicole Car, Bogdan Volkov and Tomáš Hanus conducting (May 14) and Verdi's La traviata from March 2021 with Giacomo Sagripanti, Pretty Yende, Juan Diego Flórez and Igor Golovatenko (May 15).

Gounod's Faust in the production of Frank Castorf and conducted by Bertrand de Billy with Juan Diego Flórez, Nicole Car and Adam Palka will be streamed on May 17.

The Vienna State Ballet performs Mahler, live, recorded in December 2020. Hans van Manen's Live features Olga Esina and Marcos Menha. With his first Viennese work 4 to Gustav Mahler's 4th Symphony, Martin Schläpfer has created a ballet for the entire ensemble. Concuctor: Axel Kober (18 May).


All streams listed below are available free of charge in Austria as well as internationally on our website play.wiener-staatsoper.at. Each begins at 7:00 p.m. and the broadcasts can be accessed for 24 hours.
