Samuel Colombet
Samuel Colombet was born in Guilherand (France) and educated at the Conservatoire de Danse in Avignon. In the 1995/96 season he was a member of the Theatre Luzern and the Theatre Hof. Further engagements were leading him from 1999 to 2003 to the Opera House Halle, followed by the United Theatres Graz were he danced solo roles in »The Nutcracker«, »Giselle«, »Swan Lake« and »The Firebird« as well as in works by John Cranko, Kenneth MacMillan, Youri Vámos and George Balanchine.
In 2004 he got a contract for the ballet of the Volksoper Vienna, where he performed amongst others in Ferenc Barbay’s & Michael Kropf’s »Max und Moritz«, Maurice Béjart’s »Le Concours«, Thierry Malandain’s »Don Juan« and »Cendrillon« and Vesna Orlić’s »Tausendundeine Nacht«.
Moreover, he was appointed assistant of the ballet master of the Vienna State Ballet in 2013. Since the 2020/21 season Samuel Colombet is ballet master of this company at the Volksoper Vienna. Within the series »choreo.lab« of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper he presented between 2008 and 2017 his own choreographies.
