How to reach us by public transport

ATTENTION: from 31 May 2021 until autumn 2024, the U2 only runs from Seestadt to Schottentor. Between Schottenring and Karlsplatz, please take the trams D, 1, 2, 71.

Parking with direct access to Vienna State Opera at Kärntnerstrasse car park (»Operngarage«)

The Kärntnerstrasse undergroundcar park (»Operngarage«) is located at Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz and offers direct access to the foyer of Vienna State Opera. Please note that the discount you enjoy at Kärnterringgarage does not apply here.

The passage from the garage into the opera house is opened at the time of admission, which is usually one hour before the event begins. After the end of the event, as soon as the house is empty, this door is closed again.

Evening flat rate in the garage Kärntner Straße 18:00 hrs to 24:00 hrs, € 10.00 (only bookable with Bmove app).

Bmove: Install the app and create an account with your data. You will receive a mail to your address, through which you will have to confirm the registration. Next, you need to add your license plate number and bank details and install »Ticketless«. In the future, you will only need to drive through the barrier and not go to the ticket machine.

Discounted parking at Kärnterringgarage car park

Starting Thursday, 17th October 2024:

Park for 10 hours for only €8! The Vienna State Opera and the ÖPARK Kärntnerringgarage, located at Mahlerstraße 8, under the Ringstrassen Galleries, offer a special parking rate for Vienna State Opera visitors: €8 for up to 10 hours with our evening rate from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Any additional hours before this time must be paid separately (€4 per hour; with a P-Card: €2.50 per hour – available at P Card | Mein-Contipark (Servipark Austria)).

The new system works seamlessly without a parking ticket. Simply drive into the garage, and your license plate will be automatically registered as the barrier opens. When paying, just enter your license plate number at the payment machine, or use the contactless payment option with the P-Card at the exit terminal. Upon exiting, your car’s license plate will be recognized, and the barrier will open.
