For the sixth time, the Ströck Feierabend Bäckereien & Restaurants team will be treating its top-class guests to culinary delights based on bread and wine. The traditional Viennese company is still a family business and a perfect match for the Opera Ball.
Catering manager Christopher Schramek and his team have fine delicacies in store for guests: The organic Feierabend sausages come from the ham manufacturer Thum and were created especially for the Opera Ball, accompanied by the excellent organic hand rolls. For the small appetite there is, among other things: The Kittsee organic wood oven bread with beetroot hummus or the classic organic hand roll with organic leg ham or organic salmon. In the "Sweet Curve", on the first floor at ballroom level, Ströck scores with the popular miniature doughnuts from patissier Pierre Reboul. And if you haven't tried these delicacies in the "Sweet Curve", you can still enjoy them: all ball guests receive the fluffy Jourkrapfen to take home when they leave.
This year, guests can also look forward to a cool dessert from the famous ice cream maker from the Bucklige Welt. The Eis-Greissler is a family business run by Andrea and Georg Blochberger, who make ice cream by hand from fresh ingredients. The milk from which the ice cream is made comes from their own 40 dairy cows, which graze next to the ice cream factory in Krumbach. The milk is refined with high-quality ingredients from selected partner farms and seasonal fruit. For the Opera Ball, the company creates its own creative ice cream flavors with characteristics of the cult ball and serves them to the ball guests.

In order to set another culinary accent at the Opera Ball, Birgit and Heinz Reitbauer have launched a new idea: Steirereck & Friends offers Austria's exceptional gastronomic establishments the opportunity to pamper the Opera Ball audience on a small scale and to present themselves. In the orchestra dressing room, right in the 1st basement, Heinz Reitbauer and annually changing chefs develop a joint culinary concept and serve it to the ball guests. Heinz Reitbauer's first "friends" are Philip Rachinger (Mühltalhof in Neufelden) and the team from Mochi in Vienna.
On the menu are dishes such as Versautes Punschkrapferl with radishes and purple potatoes (Rachinger), Rice Gnocchi * Pecorino * Truffle (Mochi) or Steirereck Blunzenbrot with spicy cabbage.
Philip Rachinger is one of those young chefs in Austria who are always making a name for themselves with unusual ideas. After completing his training, he cooked in renowned restaurants in Vienna, London and Paris. For almost ten years, guests at the Mühltalhof in Neufelden, which has been run by the Rachinger family for six generations, have been able to enjoy his culinary artistry. The restaurant has been awarded four Gault&Millau toques.
Since Tobias Müller, Sandra Jedliczka, Eduard and Nicole Dimant opened Mochi together in 2010, the restaurant family has grown by several addresses. What has remained unchanged, however, is the hosts' enthusiasm for Japanese food culture, high-quality, fresh ingredients and eating together in a cozy, informal atmosphere, which runs through all the restaurants.
