The principal dancers of the Vienna State Ballet with the designers Dorzh Ayushin, Cindy Fodor and Olga Chapiro
As an official side event of the Vienna Opera Ball, this year's Opera Ball Couture Salon took place yesterday evening (January 31, 2025). initiated for the first time in 2014, the »Couture Salon« has established itself as an event at the Hotel Bristol as a fixture in the world of fashion.
An Austria-wide designer competition was held to find the perfect waltz dress for a night of dancing the night away - Dorzh Ayushin, Olga Chapiro and Cindy Fodor, all of whom work in Vienna, were selected from over 50 finalists.
The prominent jury was formed by designer Michel Mayer (jury chair), the choreographer of the opening committee and Austrian national champion in standard dance Maria Angelini-Santner and the internationally successful costume designer Thomas Oláh.
The creations, most of which were specially made, will be performed by the principal dancers of the Vienna State Ballet, accompanied by jazz singer Simone Kopmajer and Gerald Schuller (piano). Davide Dato, principal dancer of the Vienna State Ballet, demonstrated with the artists how well suited the creations are for dancing.

Jewelry partner of the "Couture Salon" is Juwelier Wagner for the first time. Lancôme and "Beauty to go" partner Alma Milcic were responsible for the make-up. Special thanks also go to the hairstyling team Martin Kuklovszky (Salon Karglmayer), Sophia Neumann (EPN Friseursalon) and Waldhauser Hairstylist for their support at short notice and for styling the dancers' hair. Shoes from HUMANIC as the official shoe partner crowned the defilee and rounded off the ball look in style.
Renowned guests such as State Opera Director Bogdan Roščić with his wife Christine Klimaschka, Alessandra Ferri (future Director of the Vienna State Ballet), Simone Wohinz (Commercial Director of the Vienna State Ballet), Maryam Yeganehfar, Teresa Vogl and of course the jury members were welcomed to the event.
