Ballet Academy - New director Patrick Armand

Patrick Armand has been appointed as the new director of the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy from 1 September 2025.

The designated ballet director, Alessandra Ferri, has appointed Patrick Armand as the new director of the Ballet Academy from 1 September 2025. 

Patrick Armand has extensive international experience, both as a dancer and as a teacher. He taught the Royal Ballet London and School, the National Ballet of Canada and School and the Teatro alla Scala Ballet, among others - and is regularly invited to Japan by the Japan Ballet Association as a teacher and coach. In 2010, he began his work at the San Francisco Ballet School, which he has led with great success first as associate director since 2012. 2017 Patrick Armand was named director of the San Francisco Ballet School.
