Tasks:
- Editing of publications
- Conception, organization and co-editing of publications and texts of the Vienna State Opera, in particular programme booklets, monthly magazine and special publications, including rights clearance

- Writing texts and research tasks in consultation with other departments

Requirements:
- Completed university education, primarily cultural studies, profound musical training.
- Extensive knowledge of opera literature and contemporary reception
- Experience as a dramaturge
- Excellent knowledge of German and English, any other language an advantage
- Independent, careful and structured way of working
- Communication skills, sensitivity in working with artistic staff
The minimum salary according to the collective agreement is € 2,646.37 gross per month based on full-time employment. An overpayment from € 3,800 gross per month, depending on qualifications and experience, is possible.

The Vienna State Opera is looking for a from September 01, 2025
Head of Outreach and Mediation, full-time 40h
Tasks:
- Conception and programming of outreach & education programs for the Vienna State Opera & the Vienna State Ballet
- Dramaturgical collaboration in the program design for the children's and youth program, especially in the new venue NEST
- Development and production management of workshops, community productions, festival formats and outreach events
- Planning, conception, organization and implementation of educational theater formats in school and extracurricular contexts
- Establishment and expansion of nationwide outreach activities
- Seeking out and developing cooperation projects and creative educational and cooperation partnerships
- Generating, establishing and maintaining international project and co-production partnerships in the field of children's and youth opera
- Editing for in-house publications and platforms: Social media, podcast, print media, etc.
- Administrative and organizational activities within the framework of the mediation formats
Requirements:
- Degree in the fields of music (theater), theater studies, theater pedagogy, community arts or training and further education in the same field
- Professional experience in (music) theater mediation and implementation of children's and youth (music) theater or community arts projects
- Knowledge of children's and youth (music) theater dramaturgy
- Experience in the implementation of (international) artistic collaborations
- Experience in or interest in digital music (theater) and dance education
- A keen awareness of learning and educational processes for children and young people and of current child welfare guidelines
- Excellent communication skills, organization and independence
- High level of social competence, empathy, creative drive and team spirit
- High level of commitment, reliability and flexibility (also working weekends and evenings)
For this position we offer a monthly salary from € 4,300 gross, which is paid 14 times a year, resulting in an annual gross salary from EUR 60,200. (The minimum salary according to the collective agreement is € 2,790.50 gross per month based on full-time employment)

Technical management
To strengthen our make-up department we are looking for
Make-up artists, occasionally as evening help, starting immediately
Tasks during rehearsals / performances:
- Supervision of rehearsals and performances
- Making drawings (design sketches) and models
- Fitting and adjusting wigs, hairpieces, beards and sideburns for the actors/singers
- Fitting and adjusting bald heads, partially bald heads and hairy bald heads
- Applying different types of make-up; natural, contemporary, advantageous, etc.
- Make up parts of the face (e.g. wrinkles, scars, abrasions) and body parts (e.g. wounds, injuries, body deformations) or create them from modeling clay
- During a production, make-up and make-up changes for the actors/singers on an ongoing basis
- Applying body paint (bodypainting)
- Removing make-up from actors/singers at the end of the working day
- Providing cosmetic care for performers/singers (e.g. applying skin creams and lip balm)
- Conduct team meetings
- Properly clean the equipment used and store it in the storage room
Education and training:
- Completed apprenticeship as a hairdresser and wig maker (stylist) or
- Completed apprenticeship as a make-up artist or
- Diploma in make-up artistry or
- Make-up artist / make-up artist

- Collaboration in internal personnel administration (including timetables, duty rosters)
- Planning and coordination of team appointments
- Organization of school events (e.g. start of school, exams, parent-teacher meetings, parent information evenings, grade conference, certificate preparation, organization of semester and annual exams)
- Correspondence with the building administration of the ballet academy
- Management of the digital infrastructure and training of new users to the BAK-specific modules (Dispo-Neu administration of the timetable and IT support for the team)
- Competent, friendly and discreet processing of correspondence with internal and external contacts
- General office tasks and project-related work
Requirements:
- Relevant professional experience in an educational institution and experience in administration
- Interest in ballet, art, culture, and theater
- Excellent PC skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Tasks:
- Administrative support (school area - school administration)
- Supervision of the students (8 to 18 years) of the Ballet Academy during lessons and performances, during breaks and during non-teaching hours
- Communication between students, parents/guardians and partner institutes
- Interface between teachers, students and parents/guardians
- Support and supervision of pupils in crisis and conflict situations
- Active support from the Ballet Academy's confidential psychologist
- Picking up and accompanying students to external events and appointments, e.g. rehearsals, performances, medical appointments
- Support in the event of injuries (first aid)
- Administrative and organizational activities (including administration of sick notes, data sheets and forms, preparation of school attendance certificates and report cards, organization of entrance examinations, parents' evenings and consultation days)
- Active participation in the implementation of a student administration program
Requirements:
- Completed pedagogical training, e.g. social pedagogy or comparable psychological/pedagogical training
- Training as a paramedic is an advantage
- Professional experience in the above-mentioned areas
- Very good PC skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent German and very good English skills, other foreign languages are an advantage
- Empathy, resilience and communicative know-how, especially in relation to children and their parents, even in challenging situations
- Organizational skills, ability to work in a team and enthusiasm for dance and music
