Yijie Shi

Chinese tenor YIJIE SHI has already been acclaimed at internationally renowned venues such as Metropolitan New York, San Francisco Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, working with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Kent Nagano, Alberto Zedda.
Born in Shanghai, he graduated at the Toho College of Music in Tokyo, then he came to Europe to specialize in Graz.
After having been the revelation of Rossini Opera Festival 2008, he has imposed himself on the international scene. Highlights of his career include Armida at MET New York, Falstaff and Lucia di Lammermoor at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Rossini’s Otello at Liceu de Barcelona, Rigoletto and Il barbiere di Siviglia at Deutsche Oper Berlin, La fille du regiment and La traviata at NCPA Beijing.
His most recent successes include Rigoletto in Tenerife, I puritani in Marseille. Lucia di Lammermoor in Valencia, Don Pasquale at Bolshoi Thatre in Moscow.
