KS VESSELINA KASAROVA was born in Bulgaria and began learning the piano at the age of four. After her concert diploma she studied vocal arts at the Music Academy of Sofia and already appeared at the National Opera as a student. In 1991 she made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper as Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and became member of the ensemble here. Soon, an international career followed. Since then she has sung at the world´s most important stages: La Scala, the ROH Covent Garden, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Met, the Liceu, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Lyric Opera in Chicago, the San Francisco Opera, the opera houses in Paris. She is a regular guest at festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino or the Rossini Festival in Pesaro. At the Wiener Staatsoper she has for example sung Rosina, Carmen, Bersi (Andrea Chénier), Fjodor (Boris Godunow), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Meg Page (Falstaff), Preziosilla (La forza del destino), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Polina (Pique Dame), Charlotte (Werther), Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri) and Ruggiero (Alcina). She is both an Austrian and Bavarian Kammersängerin.
