Vasilisa Berzhanskaya
Vasilisa Berzhanskaya is a graduate of the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow and was a member of the Bolshoi Theatre’s Young Artists Program from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, she joined the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro under the guidance of Alberto Zedda. In 2017, she became a member of the Salzburg Festival’s Young Artists Program and was part of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 2017 to 2019. She has won several prestigious competitions.
Today, she performs on the world’s most renowned stages, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Rome Opera, the Opéra national de Paris, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Salzburg Festival, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, the Arena di Verona, and the Bavarian State Opera.
Her repertoire includes roles such as the title role in Norma, Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Sara in Roberto Devereux, Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena, Anna in Maometto II, Sinaide in Moïse et Pharaon, Corinna in Il viaggio a Reims, Angelina in La Cenerentola, and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, as well as Carmen, Charlotte in Werther, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, and many more.
Her current and future engagements include the title roles in Semiramide, Alcina, and Agrippina, as well as Mimì in La Bohème, Liù in Turandot, and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte. She made her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2021 as Rosina and has also performed there as Carmen and Angelina.
