Tugan Sokhiev

Tugan Sokhiev regularly conducts renowned orchestras such as the Vienna, Berlin, and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, the Staatskapelle Dresden and Staatskapelle Berlin, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Orchestra. He is also invited to lead top American orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and spends several weeks each season with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo.
From 2008 to 2022, he served as Music Director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, conducting numerous acclaimed concerts, several world premieres, and international tours that brought the orchestra widespread recognition. Between 2014 and 2022, he also held the position of Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where he led numerous new productions and world premieres.
He has appeared as a guest conductor at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, and the Teatro Real in Madrid. His upcoming engagements for the 2024/25 season include his debut with the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, guest concerts across Europe with the Staatskapelle Dresden, performances with the Munich Philharmonic, and the prestigious Summer Night Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic.
