Samuel Hasselhorn
German baritone SAMUEL HASSELHORN studied at Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media, as well as at Conservatoire de Paris. Master classes with artists such as Kiri Te Kanawa, Thomas Quasthoff and Helen Donath rounded off his training. In 2018, he came first in Queen Elizabeth Competition and won the Emmerich Smola Prize “SWR Young Opera Stars” in Heidelberg in 2018. He was also awarded the first prize in the 2017 Das Lied International Song Competition in Heidelberg and he won the Young Concert Artists Auditions 2015 in New York and the 2013 International Schubert Competition in Dortmund. Among other parts, he has sung the lead role in Viktor Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis and Masetto in Don Giovanni in Lyon, while at Oper Leipzig he performed in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. In 2017/2018 he made his debut at the concert hall of the Munich Philharmonic with a concert and a lieder recital, and also at Wigmore Hall in London, Hessischer Rundfunk, Schubertiade Vilabertran in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Musica Madrid, Tonhalle Zürich and at the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory.
