Robert Bartneck
Tenor Robert Bartneck was born in Hanover and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He started his vocal training with Ulf Bästlein and completed it with Elisabeth Batrice in 2016. He also attended master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Kurt Equiluz, Angelika Kirchschlager and collaborative pianist for Lieder Charles Spencer. His first engagements took him to the Graz Musikverein, Graz Opera and Theater Magdeburg. He has been a member of Meininger Staatstheater since the 2018/19 season. He has appeared there as Ferrando (»Così fan tutte«), Pedrillo (»Die Entführung aus dem Serail«), Prunier (»La Rondine«), Steersman (»Der fliegende Holländer«), Remendado (»Carmen«) and Brighella (»Ariadne auf Naxos«). His concert repertoire includes the great oratorios of Bach, Haydn’s »Creation«, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn's »Elijah« and many other works. Special mention should be made of a live radio broadcast of Handel's »Messiah« with the Croatian Radiotelevision Choir and Orchestra from the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb. He was guest at the Zagreb Classic open air festival as tenor soloist in Carl Orff’s »Carmina Burana«. Numerous engagements have taken him to other European countries and to China. In the 2020/21 season, Robert Bartneck will become a member of the Wiener Staatsoper.
