Pietro Spagnoli

PIETRO SPAGNOLI Pietro Spagnoli was born in Rome and sang in the choir of the Sistine Chapel at the age of eight. After his voice broke, he became a baritone and specialized in the classical and baroque repertoire. In recent years he has made a name for himself above all as an interpreter of Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti roles, and for many years has been a regular guest on the world's major opera stages, including Vienna, New York, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, Barcelona, Dresden, Hamburg, Brussels, Madrid and Aix-en-Provence. He has also been a guest at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro on several occasions. His most important roles include Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Figaro and Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, the title role in Don Giovanni, Guglielmo and Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte, Dandini and Don Magnifico in La cenerentola, Belcore and Dulcamara in L'elisir d'amore, Sulpice in La Fille du régiment, Malatesta in Don Pasquale and the title role in Falstaff. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1996 as Leporello (Don Giovanni) and here he also sang Don Alfonso, Count Almaviva, Dulcamara, Belcore, Don Magnifico and Malatesta.
