Pavel Kolgatin
PAVEL KOLGATIN was born in Balashov (Russia) in 1987. After studying in Moscow, he went on to win numerous national and international competitions. Among the festivals where he has appeared are the Moscow December Nights Festival, the Colar Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Oldenburger Promenade, while the conductors with whom he has worked include Louis Langrée, Vladimir Spivakov, Viktor Popov, Nikolai Nekrasov and Franz Welser-Möst. In 2009 he became a member of the Bolshoi Young Artists Programme. Foreign engagements have taken him to the Salzburg Landestheater for Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and to the Teatro San Carlo for Ferrando (Così fan tutte). Current appearances include Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Fenton (Falstaff) and Elvino (La sonnambula) at the Bolshoi and Tamino at the Rome Opera. He has been an ensemble member of the house on the Ring since 2012. After making his debut in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, he has gone on to appear as Brighella (Ariadne auf Naxos), Don Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro) and the Holy Fool (Boris Godunov).
