Miriam Albano
Born in Venice and raised in a family of musicians, MIRIAM ALBANO studied violin with her father and piano with her mother. At the age of 16 she began her vocal studies – after that, her training led her to the University of music and performing arts in Vienna. Master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender and Helmut Deutsch as well as studies with Charles Spencer and Joelle Bouffa in addition raised her interest in the Lied. In 2015, she made her debut as Sidonie in Lully´s Armide at the Innsbruck Festwochen der Alten Musik, in 2014 she sang Berlioz‘ Les Nuits d'été at the RadioKulturHaus Vienna with the Webern Symphonie Orchester under the direction of Leopold Hager. She sang her first Lieder recital in 2013 in Venice and at the Beethoven Center Vienna. In 2013, she made her debut as Cherubino in the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn, in 2012 she sang Amore in Gluck´s Orfeo and Euridice at the Teatro Malibran in Venice, in 2011 she sang an aria recital in Gstaad (Switzerland) with the Ensemble Gene Barocco. Miriam Albano has been awarded numerous prizes in international singing competitions – especially the second prize in the singing competition Neue Stimmen 2015 in Germany, the first prize in the singing competition Ada Sari 2015 in Poland and the Mozart prize of the Francisco Vina´s singing competition 2016 in Barcelona deserve particular mention here. She made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in February 2016, where she is a member of the ensemble.
