Mattia Olivieri
The baritone Mattia Olivieri, born in Sassuolo, Italy, made his debut in 2008 as Giorgio in La gazza ladra. Since 2015, he has had a close collaboration with La Scala in Milan, where he performed as Schaunard in La bohème and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore. Additional roles at this venue included Masetto (Don Giovanni), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Nardo (La finta giardiniera), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette), and Prosdocimo (Il turco in Italia).
He has also performed at prestigious opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Bavarian State Opera, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Theater an der Wien, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Liceu in Barcelona, as well as in Valencia, Rome, Palermo, and at the Bregenz Festival.
His upcoming projects include Marcello (La bohème) at the Bavarian State Opera, Giorgio Germont (La traviata) at the Liceu, Sir Riccardo Forth (I puritani) and Luna (Il trovatore) at the Erl Festival, and Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Paris Opéra and in Palermo.
Mattia Olivieri made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2022.
