Margarita Gritskova

Margarita Gritskova was born in 1987 in St. Petersburg. Aside from singing, she also learned piano in her hometown, and later studied in the St. Petersburg Conservatoire. She is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, among others the Luciano Pavarotti-Competition in Modena and the Concurso Internacional de Canto Villa de Colmenar in Spain. In 2010, she was a finalist at the Operalia Competition. Among others, she was Carmen under the direction of Mariss Jansons in St. Petersburg; furthermore she sang at the Festival de Opera de Tenerife, at the Summer Festival in St. Moritz, at the Hungarian Staatsoper, the Opera de Quebec, the Salzburg Festival, at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein, in Monterrey (Mexico), Oviedo, London, at the Salzburg Festival, the Rossini Festival in Wildbad and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. In 2009, she became a member of the ensemble of the Nationaltheater Weimar. At the Wiener Staatsoper, where she is now an ensemble member, she gave her debut in 2012 as Tebaldo (Don Carlo) and has since also sung among others, Idamante, Sesto, Dorabella, Smeton, Rosina, Cenerentola, Tisbe, Fjodor, Bersi, Maddalena, Mascha (Tri Sestri), Krista (Vec Makropulos).
