Ludovic Tézier is recognized as one of the world’s leading baritones and performs regularly on major stages worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Vienna State Opera, Opéra national de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, La Scala in Milan, Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Real in Madrid, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden, Bavarian State Opera, Salzburg Easter and Summer Festivals, the Bregenz and Glyndebourne Festivals, and Chorégies d'Orange. His repertoire includes leading roles such as Hamlet, Eugene Onegin, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, as well as Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), baritone version of Werther, Renato (Un ballo in maschera), Ford (Falstaff), Yeletsky (The Queen of Spades), Germont (La traviata), Chorèbe (Les Troyens), Wolfram (Tannhäuser), Posa (Don Carlo), Don Carlo di Vargas (La forza del destino), Scarpia (Tosca), and Amfortas (Parsifal).
Recent acclaimed performances include Wolfram von Eschenbach (Tannhäuser), Posa (Don Carlo), and Rigoletto at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera, Count di Luna (Il trovatore) at Teatro Real in Madrid, Simon Boccanegra at Opéra national de Paris, and Scarpia (Tosca) at the Semperoper Dresden and Salzburg Easter Festival. His wide-ranging engagements also include Marc-Antoine (Cléopâtre) at the Salzburg Festival and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Don Carlo (La forza del destino) at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Bavarian State Opera; Alphonse XI (La Favorite) at the Bavarian State Opera; as well as Escamillo (Carmen), Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Scarpia (Tosca), Posa (Don Carlo), and Count di Luna (Il trovatore) in Paris. Other notable roles include Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Munich, Paris, and London; Sir Riccardo Forth (I puritani) and Carlo Gérard (Andrea Chénier) with Opera Australia in Sydney; Don Carlo (Ernani) in Monte Carlo; Amonasro (Aida) in a concert performance in Rome under Antonio Pappano; Rigoletto at Théâtre Capitole in Toulouse; and Macbeth in Barcelona.
In addition to his opera roles, Ludovic Tézier frequently performs concerts and recitals worldwide. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2005 and has since sung numerous roles there.
