LOUIS LANGRÉE has been the Musical Director of the Mostly Mozart Festivals in New York since 2003, and became Musical Director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 2013. Earliest engagements saw him take to the conductor’s podium of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester, the Vienna Symphony, the Hallé Orchestra and the Orchestre National de France. He has also conducted both the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and NHK Symphony Orchestra. From 1998-2000 he was Musical Director of Lyon Opera; from 1998-2003 Musical Director of Glyndebourne Touring Opera. As an opera conductor, he has appeared regularly at the New Yorker Met, La Scala Milan, ROH Covent Garden, Semper Opera House, in Chicago, Geneva, Paris, Amsterdam, Orange and Spoleto. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2010 and has since led performances of La Bohème, Eugene Onegin, Clemenza di Tito, Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, La traviata. In 2006 he became Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres and in 2014, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur.
