Jean-François Borras
JEAN-FRANÇOIS BORRAS studied first in Monaco and perfected himself with Michèle Command and Gabriel Bacquier. His first engagements led the tenor as Alfredo to Mannheim, as Edgardo to Graz, as Des Grieux in Rome and the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, as Herzog in Rouen, Caracalla, Genua and Athen, as Roméo
in Triest, Verona and Genua, and as Rodolfo in Triest and Graz. Since 2007, Jean-François Borras has sung on the worlds most important stages, among others the Opéra Bastille in Paris (Des Grieux in Manon), the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London (Rainbaud in Robert le diable), the New York Metropolitan Opera (Werther), in Monte Carlo (Alfredo in La traviata). His future engagements include among others Lakmé in Toulon, La Bohème, Werther and Thaïs at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor in Avignon and Manon in Monte Carlo. He gave his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in the 2014/2015 season as Des Grieux in Manon, and also sang the lead in Massenets Werther and Rodolfo.
