Jakob Feyferlik
The Viennese Jakob Feyferlik received his training at the ballet department of the Vienna Conservatory and the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera, where he studied with Prof Evelyn Téri, Prof Karl Musil, Valentin Onoschko, Galina Skuratova, Alejandro Parente and Francisc Strnad, among others. He joined the Vienna State Ballet in 2013 and was promoted directly to soloist in 2016. In 2019, he was appointed first soloist. In September 2020, he joined the Dutch National Ballet as principal dancer. Jakob Feyferlik joined the Bavarian State Ballet as principal dancer at the start of the 2023/24 season.
His Viennese repertoire included Prince Siegfried in Rudolf Nureyevʼs Swan Lake, Jean de Brienne in Nureyevʼs Raymonda, Drosselmeyer/The Prince in Nureyevʼs The Nutcracker, Colas in Frederick Ashtonʼs La Fille mal gardée, the title role in Edward Clugʼs Peer Gynt, Kay in Michael Corderʼs The Snow Queen, Louis XVI. in Patrick de Banaʼs Marie Antoinette, The Man (Vaslav Nijinsky) in John Neumeierʼs Le Pavillon d'Armide, The Angel in Neumeierʼs Josephʼs Legend, Armand in Frederick Ashtonʼs Marguerite and Armand, Oberon in Jorma Eloʼs A Midsummer Nightʼs Dream, Aminta in Manuel Legrisʼ Sylvia, Conrad in Legris’ Le Corsaire, Lenski in John Crankoʼs Onegin as well as roles in works by George Balanchine, Jiří Bubeníček, Boris Eifman, William Forsythe, Natalia Horecna, Jiří Kylián, Harald Lander, Edwaard Liang, András Lukács, Kenneth MacMillan, Jean-Christophe Maillot, Thierry Malandain, Roland Petit, Jerome Robbins, Hans van Manen and Sir Peter Wright. Guest performances have taken him to European countries and overseas.
His awards include 2nd prize at the Premio Roma Danza (2012) and 3rd prize at the 4th International Ballet Competition in Beijing (both 2012), the Karl Musil Memorial Award (2014) and the Promotion Prize of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper (2016).
