Ilia Staple

From 2018 to 2024, the Austrian soprano was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, where she appeared in roles such as Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Gilda (Rigoletto), Musetta (La bohème), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Ida (Der junge Lord), Sophie (Werther), Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), and Cunegonde (Candide).
From 2016 to 2018, she was a member of the Upper Austrian Opera Studio at the Landestheater Linz, where she performed roles such as Flaminia (Il mondo della luna), Rosetta (in Erich Zeisl’s Leonce und Lena), and Bellezza (Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno). The young singer made a guest appearance with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana as Despina (Così fan tutte) in Lugano.
At the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, she performed in Der Ring des Nibelungen as Woglinde (Das Rheingold), Helmwige (Die Walküre), Forest Bird (Siegfried), and Woglinde (Götterdämmerung). As part of the International Bruckner Festival, Ilia Staple appeared as Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Bubikopf (Der Kaiser von Atlantis).
Since the 2024/25 season, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Vienna State Opera, where she made her debut in 2022.
