The young Ukrainian baritone IGOR ONISHCHENKO studied Law at the Odessa Law Academy and vocal arts at the University of Music of his home country. Additionally, he completed numerous master classes, for example with Ludovic Tézier, Saimir Pirgu, Vitaliy Bilyy, Galina Polivanova and Alexander Striuk. Current performances for example lead Igor Onishchenko to the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse as Conte Ceprano in Giuseppe Verdi´s Rigoletto, or to the Santiago Municipal Theatre as Figaro in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart´s Le nozze di Figaro. Igor Onishchenko was semi-finalist at the competition Neue Stimmen 2015. His repertoire includes parts such as Belcore in Gaetano Donizetti´s L’elisir d’amore, Marcello and Schaunard in Giacomo Puccini´s La Bohème, Silvio in Ruggero Leoncavallo´s Pagliacci. He is member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper and scholar of Novomatic. He made his debut at the house on the ring in 2016 as Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and has also for example sung Hauptmann/Erster Polizeioffizier in Boris Godunow and Christian in Un ballo in maschera here.
