Hulkar Sabirova
The German soprano Hulkar Sabirova was born in Uzbekistan and began her musical training at the age of seven at a state boarding school, where she studied violin and piano. She later continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, participated in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, and won the Special Prize at the Anneliese Rothenberger Singing Competition.
Highlights of recent years include her debut as Leonora (Il trovatore) at the St. Gallen Festival, Lucio Cinna (Lucio Silla) and Elettra (Idomeneo) at Teatro Real Madrid, Rosina in a new production of Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Madama Cortese in a new staging of Il viaggio a Reims at the Bolshoi Theatre. Other significant roles include Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at the Semperoper, the Savonlinna Festival, and Hamburg, Rosalinde at the Semperoper, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Hamburg State Opera, as well as Leonora (La forza del destino) and Hélène (Les Vêpres siciliennes) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
