Hannah-Theres Weigl
The young soprano is currently completing her education with a Master's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, studying under Prof. KS. Daniela Fally, while deepening her Lieder practice in the class of Prof. KS. Angelika Kirchschlager. She previously graduated with distinction from the vocal diploma program at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck under Prof. Mag. Maria Erlacher-Forster, and in the same year, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in cooperation with the mdw.
She became a member of the Bavarian State Support Class at an early age, making her opera debut at 16 as Belinda in Dido and Aeneas. Parallel to her studies, she was already performing on the stage of the Tyrolean State Theatre during the 2021.22 and 2022.23 seasons as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte and portrayed Maria of Burgundy in the contemporary premiere of Der Ritter in der weißen Rüstung as well as the central role of the young Sanna in Der Bergkristall. At the Theater for Lower Saxony, she made her debut in the 2022/23 season as Adele in Die Fledermaus and as Frasquita in Carmen. With productions at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre in Vienna, she added the role of Gretel from Hänsel und Gretel to her repertoire, as well as the role of Anna Reich in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor in spring 2024. Additionally, she is actively involved in concert performances, most recently with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and made her debut at the Gluck Festival in the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth in May 2024, where she also gave a Lieder recital at Steingraeber & Söhne as part of the Festival of Young Artists Bayreuth.
Starting in the 2024/25 season, she will be a member of the Vienna State Opera's Opera Studio, where she will be heard in her first season as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro and Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore.
