Hanna-Elisabeth Müller is considered one of today’s leading interpreters of song and concert repertoire and is equally celebrated on the opera stage. The soprano achieved her international breakthrough as Zdenka in Richard Strauss' Arabella under the direction of Christian Thielemann at the 2014 Salzburg Easter Festival, for which she was named "Young Artist of the Year" by Opernwelt magazine. She regularly appears at the world's premier opera houses and festivals, including the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Semperoper in Dresden, La Scala, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Royal Opera House, Zurich Opera House, and the Salzburg Festival.

In the 2022/23 season, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller once again demonstrated her remarkable versatility. She made her highly anticipated debut as Eva in Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg in a new production at the Vienna State Opera and returned later in the season as Countess Almaviva in a new production of Le nozze di Figaro. Additionally, she performed as Cordelia in Aribert Reimann's Lear in Munich and took on the title role in Arabella under Christian Thielemann's direction in Dresden.

Her recent engagements include roles as Marzelline (Fidelio) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) at La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, and the Bavarian State Opera. In 2018, she made her debut at Zurich Opera in Mozart’s Idomeneo as Ilia and appeared as Elettra at the Bavarian State Opera. From 2012 to 2016, she was a member of the Bavarian State Opera ensemble and has since been a returning guest artist.

A celebrated concert performer, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller has appeared at prominent venues such as La Scala, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, the Cologne Philharmonie, De Singel in Antwerp, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, the Schubertiada Vilabertran, and the Rheinvokal Festival.

Hanna-Elisabeth Müller is a Pentatone exclusive artist. Her debut album, Traumgekrönt, featuring songs by Strauss, Berg, and Schönberg, was released in 2017, followed by her second song album, Reine de Coeur, in 2020, with works by Schumann, Zemlinsky, and Poulenc.

The soprano studied with Rudolf Piernay, with whom she continues to work closely. She has received numerous awards and attended masterclasses with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Julia Varady, Elly Ameling, and Thomas Hampson.
