Gevorg Hakobyan

Armenian dramatic baritone Gevorg Hakobyan studied at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan with Maestro Sergey Danielyan. In 2008, Gevorg was awarded both the Gold Medal and First Prize at the prestigious First International Pavel Lisitsian Baritone Competition in Moscow, and in 2011 was recognized as a Merited Artist of the Republic of Armenia. Looking ahead, Gevorg returns to the Bolshoi Theatre and Teatro Real Madrid and makes his house debuts at the Liceu Barcelona, de Nationale Opera Amsterdam, Savonlinna Festival. He has appeared at Palau de les Arts Valencia, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Mariinsky Theatre, Mikhailovsky Theatre, Stuttgart Opera, Terme di Caracalla Roma, Teatro Communale di Bologna, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Opera de Lille, Opera di Genova and Teatro Regio di Torino as well as the White Nights Festival St. Petersburg and Savonlinna Festival.
