Florina Ilie

Born in Romania, Florina Ilie completed her studies at the National Music University of Bucharest and continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. The soprano has won numerous first prizes at national singing competitions in Romania (Paul Constantinescu, Ionel Perlea, Sabin Dragoi, Ada Burlui) and was awarded the special prize at the Otto Edelmann International Competition in Vienna.
She made her debut at the age of 17 at the National Opera in Bucharest and has since performed at prestigious opera houses including Opéra-Théâtre de Metz Métropole, Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur, and Opéra de Toulon.
During the 2018-2020 seasons, she was a member of the Opera Studio at Oper Frankfurt. There, she portrayed roles such as the First Nymph in Rusalka, the Italian Singer in Capriccio and Gilda in Rigoletto. She also appeared as Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos and Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the State Theatre Darmstadt as a guest performer.
From 2020 to 2022, she was a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt. Her diverse roles included Norina in Don Pasquale, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Ninetta in La gazza ladra, Sister Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Sophie in Werther and Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe.
In the 2022-2023 season, she made her debut at venues such as Theater St. Gallen, where she performed the role of Léontine in L’amant anonyme, Opéra d’Avignon, where she appeared as Fiorilla in Il turco in Italia and Opéra de Marseille, where she portrayed the role of Marguerite in Les Huguenots.
