Evgeniya Sotnikova
EVGENIYA SOTNIKOVA comes from Kurgan/Russia. In 2008, the soprano completed her vocal training at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. From 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera. In the 2011/12 season she was a member of the ensemble. Guest engagements have taken her to the Klagenfurt Theatre as Ilia (Idomeneo) and Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de Perles), to the Hamburg State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera as Jemmy (Guillaume Tell), to the Glyndebourne Festival as the 1st Nymph (Rusalka) and to the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow as Despina (Così fan tutte). In 2016 she made her debut at Malmö Opera as Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. She returned to the Bavarian State Opera in 2018 for a new production of Aus einem Totenhaus and in 2020 and 2022 as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro. In the 2022/23 season she sings Fifth Maid (Elektra) and Esmeralda (The Bartered Bride) there. She debuts at the Vienna State Opera in 2023 in Lady Macbeth of Mzensk.
