Evelyn Herlitzius
EVELYN HERLITZIUS comes from Osnabrück and studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Before she was hired by the Semper Opera House, she performed as guest artist at the Bregenzer Festival and at the Bavarian State Opera. She gave her debut performance at the Semper Opera House in 1997 as Leonore. Since then, she has worked closely with this well-established opera house. She makes regular guest appearances, both in her home country and abroad, performing on the world’s principal stages and alongside international symphony orchestras (such as Berlin and Münich State Opera, La Scala Milan, Monte-Carlo, Bilbao, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Théâtre la Monnaie Brüssel, Nederlandse Opera, Liceu). She has performed regularly at the Bayreuth Festival since 2002 (Brünnhilde, Kundry, Ortrud, Isolde), in 2011 she sang at the Salzburg festival (Färberin), in 2013 in in Aix-en-Provence (Elektra), she was selected by Sir Simon Rattle to sing Schönberg’s Erwartung alongside players from the Berlin Philharmonic during their tour to New York (2009) along with concert performances of Die Walküre in Berlin (2012). Debuts with the Metropolitan Opera New York and San Francisco Opera are planned for 2017/2018. She has worked with the Vienna State Opera since 2000.
