Erwin Schrott

KS Erwin Schrott appears regularly on the stages of the world’s most renowned opera houses and at major festivals. Born in Montevideo (Uruguay), he began his operatic career at the age of 22 as Roucher in Andrea Chénier. A prizewinner of numerous competitions, he is an exclusive artist with Sony Classical.
Highlights of recent seasons include performances in La Gioconda at La Scala in Milan, Aida at the Salzburg Festival and in Berlin, L’elisir d’amore in Orange (France), Macbeth in Barcelona (Spain), L’elisir d’amore and Carmen in Vienna, Munich, and Verona, Il turco in Italia, Tosca and Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Hamburg, Tosca and I vespri siciliani at the Vienna State Opera, and La cenerentola in Barcelona.
In the 2025/26 season, his engagements include Ramfis (Aida) in Monte-Carlo (Monaco), Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore) in Hamburg, Escamillo (Carmen) at the Paris Opéra, Oroveso (Norma) at both the Berlin State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera, and Alidoro (La cenerentola) at the Bavarian State Opera.
He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1999. In addition to his career as an opera singer, he is committed to charitable organizations supporting children in need.
