With her first portrayal of the Dyer’s Wife in Die Frau ohne Schatten in Florence in 2010 under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Russian soprano Elena Pankratova gained international recognition. This success led to invitations from prestigious opera houses such as Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro Colón, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Mariinsky Theatre, Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen, Bavarian State Opera, Royal Opera House, Opéra national de Paris, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Vienna State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and La Monnaie, as well as appearances in Tokyo, Florence, Naples, and Tel Aviv.

In 2016, she made her debut as Kundry in Parsifal at the Bayreuth Festival, performed Ortrud (Lohengrin) at the Salzburg Festival in 2022, and, in February 2024, took on the title role in Turandot during her house debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

Her repertoire also includes roles such as Odabella (Attila), the title roles in Elektra, Tosca, Ariadne auf Naxos, and Norma, Isolde (Tristan und Isolde), Venus (Tannhäuser), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Leonora (Il trovatore), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Abigaille (Nabucco), and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana).

For her performances as Kundry in Bayreuth and the Dyer’s Wife in Berlin, the soprano was awarded the Casta DivaOpera Prize as Best Singer of the Year 2018.
