Elena Guseva
Russian soprano ELENA GUSEVA studied at the Shostakovich Conservatory in Kurgan and at the Moscow Conservatory. Her first engagements took her to the Stanislavsky Theater in Moscow, where she appeared as Mimì (La bohème), Micaëla (Carmen), Tatjana (Eugene Onegin), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Leonora (La forza del destino), Emma (Khovanshchina) and Antonia/Stella (Les Contes d'Hoffmann). Further guest engagements have taken her to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Hamburg State Opera and the Opéra de Lyon, among others, where she was able to further expand her repertoire with the title roles in Aida and Tosca as well as Desdemona (Otello). Future engagements include Tosca and Fremde Fürstin (Rusalka) at the Semperoper, Lisa (Pique Dame) and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) at La Scala in Milan, and Marie/Marietta (Die tote Stadt) at the Bavarian State Opera. At the Vienna State Opera, Elena Guseva made her debut in 2017 as Polina in the State Opera premiere of Prokofiev's The Gambler. She later returned here as Cio- Cio-San, Aida and Desdemona.
