Edvin Revazov

Edvin Revazov, born in the Ukraine, received his training in Moscow and at the ballet school of the Hamburg Ballet. He joined the Hamburg Ballet in 2003, became a soloist in 2007 and first soloist in 2010. John Neumeier created for him Tadzio in Death in Venice, Parzival in Parzival – Episodes and Echo, Apollo in Orpheus, Gate Keeper in Liliom, Eugene Onegin in Tatiana, Count Alexei Vronsky in Anna Karenina, Tennessee in The Glass Menagerie and An Officer in Dona Nobis Pacem. He has performed numerous important solo and title roles in Neumeierʼs ballets, including Peer Gynt and Liliom. He has also danced in choreographies by George Balanchine, John Cranko, Jerome Robbins, Demis Volpi and Christopher Wheeldon. Edvin Revazov has created numerous works for the Young Choreographers as well as the ballet evening Shakespeare - Sonnets for the Hamburg Ballet together with Marc Jubete and Aleix Martínez. He has won numerous awards, most recently the John Neumeier Prize for Choreography in 2023, and founded the Hamburg Chamber Ballet, which offers dancers who have fled Ukraine a new artistic home.
