Dmitry Golovnin

Dmitry Golovnin studied at the St Petersburg Conservatory and at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg, Germany. In addition, he took lessons with Franz Grundheber and Elena Obraztsova. His engagements for the 2021/22 season and beyond include Andrey in Mazepa in Berlin and Baden-Baden, Herman in Pique Dame and Grigoriy in Boris Godunov at the Wiener Staatsoper, Agrippa and Mephisto in The Fiery Angel at the Teatro Real Madrid and another Herman at La Monnaie in Brussels. Recent highlights have included Sergey in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk in Frankfurt and at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, Alexej in The Gambler, Andrey in Mazepa at the Bolshoi, Grigoriy in Boris Godunov for Opéra de Paris.
Further past engagement have included a return to Theater an der Wien for Orleanskaya Deva and to Opéra de Lyon for Janáček’s From the House of Dead, Grigoriy in Boris Godunov at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Alexei in The Gambler at Theater Basel, both Agrippa and Mephisto in The Fiery Angel for Zurich Opera and for Opéra de Lyon, Grishka in The Invisible City of Kitezh at the Liceu in Barcelona, Painter in American Lulu for the Theater an der Wien, Andrey Khovansky in Khovanshchina and Zemlinsky’s King Kandaules with the Vlaamse Opera Antwerp, Golitsyn in Khovanshchina at Theater Basel, as well as Albert in The Miserly Knight and Dante in Francesca da Rimini at La Monnaie in Brussels.
