Dimitry Ivashchenko was highly acclaimed by public and press alike when presenting his first Philippe of »Don Carlos« in the original French version in Darmstadt as well as for his appearance as Kaspar in »Der Freischütz« at the Baden-Baden Festival under Thomas Hengelbrock. Despite his young age, the Russian bass won also great acclaim for his impressive portrayal of Gurnemanz in »Parsifal« and for Méphistophélès in Gounod's »Faust«. Mr. Ivashchenko is Russian and a graduate of the Glinka Conservatory in Novosibirsk.  After moving to Germany, he completed his studies at the Music High School of Karlsruhe.  International appearances include Sarastro at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Osmin at the Scottish Opera in Glasgow and at the Teatro Gayarre de Pamplona (Spain), where to he returned as Sir Giorgio in »I Puritani«. He also performed excerpts from Boito's »Mefistofele« in Bilabao, Ludwig  VI in Weber´s »Euryanthe« at the Théatre du Capitole de Toulouse, Mephisto, Böser Geist & Pater Profundus in Schumann's »Faust Szenen« at La Scala in Milan, Commendatore in »Don Giovanni« and Frère Laurent in »Roméo et Juliette« at the Salzburg Festival, Pogner in a new production of »Meistersinger« as well as Vodnik in »Rusalka« at the Komische Oper Berlin, Titurel in »Parsifal« with the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Berlin under Marek Janowski at the Philharmonie Berlin, Banco in »Macbeth« in Lille, Hunding in »Walküre«, at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Sparafucile in »Rigoletto« at the Opéra de Paris/Bastille, the title part in a new production of »Boris Godunow« in Dortmund, Sparafucile at the Munich State Opera, Pogner at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Sarastro with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle at the Baden-Baden Festival and at the Philharmonie Berlin, Gurnemanz in Santiago de Chile and in Darmstadt, Beethoven’s 9. Symphony with the Berlin Philharmonic. 2017/18: Sarastro in a new production at the Theater an der Wien, Rocco in a  series of concert performances of »Leonore« under René Jacobs in Vienna, Brussels, Amsterdam, Athens, Baden-Baden, Cologne and Paris, Honegger’s »Jeanne d’Arc« with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester under Thomas Hengelbrock at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Hunding and Escamillo in Toulouse as well as Sarastro in a new production at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence 2018. 2018/19: Sarastro at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, at the Dresden State Opera and with the Komische Oper Berlin in New York, Gremin in guest performances of the Komische Oper Berlin at the Edinburgh Festival 2019, Enrico VIII in »Anna Bolena« at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux as well as Sparafucile in a revival at the MET.
