Cristian Ruscior

Cristian Ruscior comes from Romania and studied violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Marina Sorokowa and Leonid Sorokow. He worked as a violin teacher at the Barenboim-Said Foundation in Ramallah for three years. Since 2018 he has been concertmaster of the Etihad Chamber Orchestra in Amman, Jordan. In February 2019, he received a temporary contract with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and in March of the same year he was appointed first violinist of the Marc Aurel Quartet. Since winning the audition for the Vienna State Opera’s Stage Orchestra in November 2021, he has performed as a violinist at the Haus am Ring, with the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic. Cristian Ruscior is a prizewinner of the Grazina International Violin Competition, the Prima la Musica Competition in Vienna and the Symphonic Holidays Competition in Moscow, among others. He has performed as a soloist and concertmaster with orchestras such as the Young Vienna Soloists, the Botosani Philharmonic, the Mihail Jora Philharmonic and the Kaunas Chamber Orchestra. Other concerts have taken him to Japan, China, Lithuania, Romania, Finland, Austria and Italy.
