Soprano CHRISTINE GOERKE sings on the world’s major opera stages, such as the Met, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opéra national de Paris, Teatro alla Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Teatro Real in Madrid. She has performed most of the important roles, from Mozart and Handel’s famous female portraits to Strauss and Wagner’s dramatic parts. Her work on the title roles in Elektra, Turandot and Ariadne auf Naxos, her Brünnhilde in the Ring cycle, Kundry in Parsifal, Ortrud in Lohengrin, Leonora in Fidelio, Eboli in Don Carlos, Dyer’s Wife in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Cassandre in Les Troyens, Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes, Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, Alice in Falstaff und Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites was widely celebrated. Current and upcoming engagements include Turandot at the Met, the full Ring cycle at Lyric Opera Chicago and performances of Tristan und Isolde’s second act with the National Symphony Orchestra at Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. In the summer of 2020, she will make her long-awaited Bayreuth Festival debut in Götterdämmerung.
