Catherine Naglestad

The international success of the American soprano CATHERINE NAGLESTAD is largely due to her artistic creativity as well as her impressive vocal versatility. The works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, George Friedrich Handel and Christoph Willibald Gluck formed the building blocks for her career. Today, she sings the heroine roles of Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Richard Strauss und Richard Wagner with great success. Current engagements will see Catherine Naglestad perform as Salome at the New York Metropolitan Opera and at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Cassandre (Les Troyens) at Hamburg State Opera; as Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) and Siegfried-Brünnhilde at the Bavarian State Opera; as Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) in Stuttgart and the title role of Tosca at the New National Theatre Tokyo. She has recently extended her repertoire to include the role of Carlotta in Schreker’s Die Gezeichneten at the Bavarian State Opera and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana) at the Zurich Opera House. Catherine Naglestad gave her debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2009 as Tosca and has also performed Salome here.
