Bror Magnus Tødenes
The young tenor MAGNUS BROR TØDENES was born in Norway. After studying piano he turned to singing and was accepted to the talent programme of the NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) in Trondheim. Later he continued his studies at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome (with Elisabeth Norberg-Schulz). In 2013 he received the Erling-Krogh Scholarship by the Nowegian National Opera as youngest artist since the founding of the foundation. In 2015 he sang Lenski (Eugen Onegin) at the Nordnork Opera. In 2016 he was Roderigo at the Easter Festival in Salzburg, before that he was already a member of the Young Artists Programme. Current performances include projects with the Oslo Philharmonic, the Bergen Festival Orchestra and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. He has won several prizes in competitions, for example the Renata Tebaldi competition (first place and audience prize). In 2014 his first CD “Remembering Jussi“, which was immediately nominated for the Sellemanpris – the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy. As of the season 2016/2017 he will be member of the Wiener Staatsoper ensemble and holds a NOVOMATIC scholarship.
