Antonio Di Matteo, born in Naples in 1989, is a renowned Italian bass and one of the most promising talents of his generation. He graduated from the Giuseppe Martucci Conservatory in Salerno and has been awarded a number of prestigious prizes. Today he can be heard on renowned stages such as La Scala in Milan, the Salzburg Festival, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Teatro di San Carlo and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. His recordings have received international recognition, including the International Classical Music Award 2022 for the recording of Il pirata. His most recent roles include Sparafucile (Rigoletto) at the Berlin State Opera, Ramfis (Aida) in Verona and Colline (La bohéme) at the Puccini Festival in Viareggio. Upcoming projects include the Commendatore (Don Giovanni) at the Vienna State Opera and the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, as well as Jacopo Loredano in I due Foscari in Piacenza.
