Annemarie Herfurth

Annemarie Herfurth, born in Leipzig, studied instrumental/vocal accompaniment and chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig under Prof. Hanns-Martin Schreiber and Prof. Helmut Weese. From 2003 to 2006, she worked as an artistic assistant, accompanying various instrumental and vocal classes at the Leipzig Music College. She participated in numerous chamber music, song interpretation, and conducting courses, and won first and second prizes as a young accompanist and chamber music partner at the Federal Competition "Jugend musiziert."

In the 2006/07 season, she was a member of the International Opera Studio at the State Theater Nuremberg. From 2007/08 to 2014/15, she served as solo repetiteur at the Heidelberg Theater, and from the 2015/16 to 2018/19 season, she was deputy study director at the Lower Saxony State Theater Hanover. Since summer 2019, she has been engaged as a repetiteur at the Vienna State Opera.

At Amici musicae Leipzig, she is a welcomed guest as a harpsichordist/organist. Numerous concerts and her work accompanying singers and instrumentalists in competitions, such as the Federal Singing Competition, the Bach Competition in Leipzig, and the Federal Competition "Jugend musiziert," have taken her throughout Germany and into various European countries.

In July 2009, she won the Bösendorfer Prize for opera accompaniment at the International Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna.
