Russian mezzo soprano Anna Goryachova’s projects include »La clemenza di Tito in Geneva and at the Vienna Festival, »La cenerentola« in Munich, Valencia and Vienna, »Così fan tutte« in Zurich and »Carmen in London and Vienna. Highlights of the recent past have been Clara d'Almanza in Prokofiev's »Betrothal in a Monastery« under Daniel Barenboim and directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov, Dulcinée in »Don Quixote« at the Bregenzer Festspiele, Rosina in »Il barbiere di Siviglia« at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Dido in Moscow, »The Queen of Spades« in London, Adalgisa (»Norma«) in Zurich, in Trieste and under Nello Santi at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Dorabella (»Così fan tutte«) in Zurich in the widely praised production by Kirill Serebrennikov, in Florence and under Michele Mariotti in Bologna, Rosina (»Il barbiere di Siviglia«) at the Festival d’Opéra Baroque in Beaune; her débuts at the Arena di Verona, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Teatro real in Madrid in the title role in »Carmen«, Sesto in Antwerp and Ghent, Carmen in Madrid, Melibea (»Il viaggio a Reims«) in Rome, Copenhagen, under Stefano Molinari in Amsterdam and under Alberto Zedda in Antwerp, the title role in »La cenerentola« in Oslo, Polina (»The Queen of Spades«) directed by Stefan Herheim and conducted by Mariss Jansons in Amsterdam, Ruggero (»Alcina«) under Christophe Rousset at the Paris Palais Garnier, Isabella (»L’italiana in Algeri«) in Pesaro, Carmen under Dmitri Jurowski in Antwerp, Alcina (»Orlando Paladino«) at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris under Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Edoardo (»Matilde di Shabran«) under Michele Mariotti in Pesaro. From 2012 to 2017, she was a member of the ensemble of Zurich Opera, where to date she has performed in »Salome«, »La Scala di Seta«, Etvös' »Tri sestry«, Rinaldo, as Zerlina (»Don Giovanni«) under Fabio Luisi, as Magdalene (»Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«) under Sebastian Weigle, as Polina under Jiri Belohlavek, Rosina under Enrique Mazzola, Yen-Er in Christian Jost's »Rote Laterne« under Alain Altinoglu, as Zelim (»Verità in Cimento«) under Ottavio Dantone, as Melibea under Daniele Rustioni and as Alcina (»Orlando Paladino«). As a concert singer, she has given guest performances in Rome with Stravinsky's »Les Noces« under Andrés Orozco-Estrada and at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro with »Stabat mater«. Anna Goryachova studied at the St Petersburg Conservatory and in Rome with Renata Scotto at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia and with Romualdo Savastano. Her first engagements took her to the St Petersburg Chamber Opera, Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, the Knowlton Festival in Canada, to the Berlin Classic Open Air as Carmen and to Rome in Philip Glass's »The Witches of Venice«. In 2008, she won second prize and a special prize at the International Galina Vishnevskaya singing competition in Moscow.
