Alexandra Yangel

The mezzo-soprano ALEXANDRA YANGEL was born in Moscow in 1992. She began studying the violin at the age of five which she went on to study at the Moscow Conservatoire, graduating in 2011 with distinction. Alexandra Yangel began her vocal studies at the age of 19 at the Moscow Gnesins Academy of Music where, in the Opera Studio, she took such roles as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) or Olga (Eugen Onegin). In 2013 Alexandra Yangel transferred to the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität, where she also took part in regular masterclasses with internationally renowned teachers. Alexandra Yangel has been a member of Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now in Vienna since 2014. In 2016 the young singer was a prizewinner at the international singing competition Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. As of 2017/2018 she is a Member of the Ensemble at the Vienna State Opera where she is also the Novomatic Scholar. Latest performances include performances at the Festspiele Schloss Rheinsberg and in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire.
