Ailyn Pérez
The soprano Ailyn Pérez is a regular guest at the world's leading opera houses and cultural capitals. Recent performances include Leonora in Il trovatore at Houston Grand Opera, Mimì (La bohème) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Other recent engagements include Cio-Cio-San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Madrid, and Houston Grand Opera; the title role in Puccini’s Tosca at the Berlin State Opera; and Nedda (Pagliacci) at the Bavarian State Opera.
Highlights of her career include Violetta (La traviata) at the Zurich Opera House, Hamburg State Opera, Berlin State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, San Francisco Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. At Covent Garden, she also performed the title role in Massenet’s Manon and Liù (Turandot).
Ailyn Pérez has additionally performed Magda (La rondine) at the Washington National Opera, Thaïs, Micaëla (Carmen), Musetta (La bohème), and Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at the Metropolitan Opera. She has sung Adina (L’elisir d’amore) at the Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Washington National Opera, as well as Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Desdemona (Otello) at Houston Grand Opera. Further roles include Countess Almaviva and Marguerite (Faust) at Hamburg State Opera.
Ailyn Pérez made her debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2010 as Violetta and has since performed there as Adina and Manon.
