The internationally renowned Baritone MARIUSZ KWIECIEN was born in Krakow and currently holds US citizenship. He was a member of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. Today, he regularly performs on the major stages of New York, London, Paris, Chicago, Madrid and Munich. His most important roles include Don Giovanni, Zurga (Les Pêcheurs de Perles), Duke of Nottingham (Roberto Devereux), Conte d’Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Eugen Onegin, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Marcello, Malatesta (Don Pasquale), the title role in Karol Szymanowski’s König Roger, Riccardo (I puritani), Posa and Rodrigue respectively (Italian and French versions of Don Carlo). Most recently, he sang the roles of Eugen Onegin at the Met, in Chicago and Warsaw, Conte d’Almaviva and Alphonse XI. (La Favorite) in Munich, Rodrigue in San Francisco, Duke of Nottingham in New York, Don Giovanni am Liceu in Barcelona. Future performances include Enrico in Munich, Conte d’Almaviva at the Met, Zurga in Chicago, Don Giovanni and Marcello in London. He gave his debut performance at the Vienna State Opera in 2005 as Don Giovanni and has since performed here as Eugen Onegin, Riccardo, Belcore.
