VENERA GIMADIEVA is originally from Russia and studied at the Kazan Music College and later at the Conservatorium in St. Petersburg. The soprano won international singing competitions and received The Golden Mask, one Russia’s most prestigious culture awards in 2014 for her interpretation of Amina (La sonnambula) at the Bolshoi theatre in Moscow. She became a member of Bolshoi and sang such roles as Gilda (Rigoletto), Marfa (Zarenbraut), Violetta (La traviata), Schneeflöckchen, Königin von Schemacha (Der goldene Hahn) und Serpina (La serva padrona) here. She has also performed at the likes of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Glyndebourne, Opéra de Limoges, Opéra de Reims, Paris Opera, Budapest State Opera, Savonlinna Easter Festival, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semper Opera House in Dresden, Teatro Real in Madrid, Zürich Opera. Current engagements include performances with the Semper Opera House, Bavarian State Opera and the Bolshoi. Her future performances include such roles as Lucia di Lammermoor, Norina, Elvira.
